Waiting for the week-ahead forecast to mention frost means you're often reacting with only a day or two of notice. Look up your area's historical average first-frost date instead, and start preparing — harvesting, covering, moving things indoors — a couple of weeks before that date, since an "early" frost can still land well ahead of the average in a given year.
