Redmine is a free, open-source project management and issue-tracking application, built on Ruby on Rails. It’s commonly used for tracking bugs, tasks, and project work across teams — tickets, priorities, statuses, and a history of who changed what.
It’s a mature, self-hostable alternative to proprietary issue trackers, which matters for the same reason self-hosting anything else does: the data — project plans, internal discussions, bug reports — stays on infrastructure you control.
Worth knowing: this site’s own hosting infrastructure runs Redmine as a real, working service for its own project tracking.
