Prepper Hackathon

Two days of building real solutions to real preparedness problems — in teams, with your hands, not slideware. Bring an idea, or find a team on day one. A 2nd edition is already planned for March 2027.

Two people building a wooden structure with tools outdoors

What you'll do

  • Pick or pitch a problem — off-grid water, low-cost first aid kits, neighborhood communication plans, whatever's real to you
  • Form a team and build a working prototype or a concrete plan over the two days
  • Demo it to the room and get direct feedback, no jury theatrics

Who it's for

Anyone who'd rather build something than just talk about it — makers, engineers, medics, parents, whoever. No team required going in; solo entries and teams formed on the day are both completely normal.

What to bring

  • A laptop or tools relevant to your idea, if you have them
  • Basic building supplies for common prototypes are provided on-site both days
  • Whatever you need overnight if you're travelling in — the venue itself closes between the two days, accommodation is on you
  • Food and water across both days are covered — see Sponsors below

Led by

Run by prepping.club's own team, on hand across both days to help teams that get stuck and keep things on schedule.

Sponsors

Prizes and food across both days are sponsor-funded — nothing confirmed yet. If your company wants to put a prize on the table, or just feed hungry hackers for a weekend, we'd like to hear from you.

Volunteers

We need mentors and judges as much as we need builders. If you know your stuff and would rather help teams than compete, check the box on the RSVP form.
